To Winterize or Not?

Writer: greenworkstlcgreenworkstlc

We put away the summer clothes, pack up the porch furniture cushions, service our furnaces, and put winter tires on our cars. So, why don't we all winterize our lawns?

Plants go through a winterizing process of their own, though some more dramatically than others. We enjoy the fall foliage so much that people will drive miles and miles just so they can drive through the mountains of Pennsylvania and see all of the leaves changing. Our lawns, however, are overlooked. Well, not any more!

There are things you can do to help your lawn prepare for the winter months and subsequently, the following spring. There are specific micro nutrients that your grass will need to absorb and store for the growing season. Many of those nutrients need to be added to the soil for there to be enough to make a positive impact and can be easily applied by a professional. Once applied, the nutrients stored over the winter will jump start spring root growth, deepen the color of your lawn, and allow your grass to thicken quickly.

Do you know what the best weed deterrent is? Grass. Thick, deep rooted, healthy grass.

Do you know who can winterize your lawn for you? We can.

Boom.
